Authored: Garapati, P V, 2008-07-16 14:42:16, Edited: Garapati, P V, 2008-07-30 10:24:23, Reviewed: Cooper, HM, 2010-02-16, The DCC family includes DCC and neogenin in vertebrates. DCC is required for netrin-induced axon attraction. DCC is a transmembrane protein lacking any identifiable catalytic activity. Protein tyrosine kinase 2/FAK and src family kinases bind constitutively to the cytoplasmic domain of DCC and their activation couples to downstream intracellular signaling complex that directs the organization of actin.
