Search Guidelines

This page offers simultaneous, single box query for the available search entities.

Each query will search within all fields defined for each of the entities.

The resulting result list can further be narrowed using the respective filters.

How to use this search

  1. Choose a relevant search entity's scope.
  2. Start typing into input field. The system will retrieve a list of relevant for that field concepts to use for your search. If a concept is selected, it will be highlighted as a blue box.
  3. If none of the suggestions suits your search criteria, you can include your input as free text by just pressing "Enter" key - this will add a text search item to your query as a green box.
  4. You can add multiple free text inputs and semantic concepts. You can remove any of the inputs by clicking the "x" of the color box.
  5. You can add more search categories and define search criteria for each of them.
  6. Use the filter facets (on the left side) to narrow you search. You can select multiple filters and values.
  7. Order results by clicking on the table headings. Repeat when need direction of ordering changed

Useful Tips

  1. Using semantic concepts (as blue box) in your search will include all synonyms and spelling variants of the term as search parameter.
  2. When a free text search criteria is defined the following syntax is used: [keyword1][keyword2] - both terms must be present in any of the search categories; [keyword1 keyword2] any of the terms must be presented in any of the categories; [keyword*] will identify all records that contain a word starting with keyword; ["keyword1 keyword2"] will match all records which contain this exact phrase.
  3. If you define more than one input parameter for a single search category (e.g. {CATEGORY1}[keyword1][keyword2]), the system will return the objects that contain any of the search parameters for the specified category.
  4. If you define serch criteria for multiple categories (e.g. {CATEGORY1}[keyword1]{CATEGORY1}[keyword2]), the system will return the objects that contain all of the search parameters for the specified categories.
  5. Add additional categories to your result using the "Add column" drop-down list. You can rearrange the columns in the result list, as well.
  6. All columns, which contain unique values per main entity, are sortable.
  7. Summary columns represent the main information about the clinical object (title, identifier, etc) and the search hits.
