We tested the hypothesis that plasma levels of plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) are influenced by percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with the implantation of drug eluting stents (DES) and are able to predict the occurrence of in-stent restenosis (ISR).
