Tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNFalpha) is a key cytokine involved in granuloma formation of sarcoidosis. Since soluble TNF receptors (sTNF-R) are known to inhibit TNF effects, we were interested in whether they are elevated in the serum of sarcoidosis patients.
