CSP: serum glycoprotein produced by activated macrophages and other mammalian mononuclear leukocytes; has necrotizing activity against tumor cell lines and increases ability to reject tumor transplants; shares two receptors with tumor necrosis factor beta.,MSH: Serum glycoprotein produced by activated MACROPHAGES and other mammalian MONONUCLEAR LEUKOCYTES. It has necrotizing activity against tumor cell lines and increases ability to reject tumor transplants. Also known as TNF-alpha, it is only 30% homologous to TNF-beta (LYMPHOTOXIN), but they share TNF RECEPTORS.,NCI: Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) - Serum glycoprotein produced by activated macrophages and other mammalian mononuclear leukocytes which has necrotizing activity against tumor cell lines and increases ability to reject tumor transplants. It mimics the action of endotoxin but differs from it. It has a molecular weight of less than 70,000 kDa.
