Basilar artery (BA) dolichoectasia (dilatative arteriopathy) (BAD) causes arterial elongation and enlargement with subsequent hemodynamic changes leading to thrombosis, microembolization and brainstem compression. Little is known about the association between BAD and the pattern of pontine infarct in patients without BA stenosis.
