The restricted expression of the surface glycoprotein prostrate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) to normal prostate tissue, primary and metastatic prostate cancer (PCa), and the neovasculature of various nonprostatic epithelial malignancies has enabled targeting strategies for PCa treatment using anti-PSMA antibodies.
