SH3-mediated binding of p130Cas to FAK is linked to enhanced tyrosine phosphorylation of p130Cas at multiple sites. The Cas substrate domain contains 15 separate YxxP motifs after phosphorylation recruits the SH2 mediated binding of Crk adaptor protein that affect the downstream MAPK signalling pathway, resulting in cell survival and increased motility.
