The integrin alpha11beta1 along with alpha1beta1, alpha2beta1 and alpha10beta1 are referred as a collagen receptor subgroup of the integrin family. Alpha11beta1 mediates cell adhesion to collagens I and IV (with preference to collagen-I) and form focal contacts on collagens.
