p-ERK1/2 dissociates from p-MEK1/2, allowing dimerization of the activated MAPKs and translocation to the nucleus. In FGFR signaling, there is evidence that this dissociation event is negatively regulated by the golgi membrane form of IL17RD, preventing the nuclear localization of activated ERK1/2.
