Tyrosine biosynthesis

Protein involved in the synthesis of the aromatic amino acid tyrosine. In microorganisms and plants, tyrosine is synthesized from chorismate via a simple pathway using prephenate as an intermediate. In rat, this nonessential amino acid is produced by hydroxylating the essential amino acid phenylalanine.
