Cytoskeleton

Protein which is a component or which is associated with the cytoskeleton, a dynamic three-dimensional structure that fills the cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells. The cytoskeleton is both a muscle and a skeleton, and is responsible for cell movement, cytokinesis, and the organization of the organelles within the cell. The major components of cytoskeleton are the microfilaments (of actin), microtubules (of tubulin) and intermediate filament systems in cells.
