Involved in the degradation of prenylcysteine. Cleaves specifically the thioether bond of S-farnesyl-L-cysteine and has no activity with S-geranylgeranyl-L-cysteine. Recognizes also N-acetyl-farnesylcysteine and may have a role in deprenylation of farnesylated proteins.
