CSP: maturing ovum eccentrically located in a hillock of specialized epithelial cells in the ovary; precursor to the mature ovarian follicle which is ejected during ovulation.,NCI: Any of the fluid-filled vesicles in the mammalian ovary containing a maturing ovum.,MSH: The blister-like mature ovarian follicle containing the OVUM surrounded by an accumulation of GRANULOSA CELLS (the cumulus oophorus) and an increasing volume of FOLLICULAR FLUID. The mature Graafian follicle is ready to release the ovum by the process of OVULATION.
