NCI: A species of aerobic, Gram negative, rod shaped bacteria in the phylum Proteobacteria. This species is motile, non spore forming, catalase and oxidase positive and is able to convert nitrates to nitrogen gas. P. stutzeri is an opportunistic pathogen.,NCI: Any bacterial organism that can be assigned to the species Pseudomonas stutzeri.,MSH: A species of gram-negative bacteria in the genus PSEUDOMONAS, containing multiple genomovars. It is distinguishable from other pseudomonad species by its ability to use MALTOSE and STARCH as sole carbon and energy sources. It can degrade ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTANTS and has been used as a model organism to study denitrification.
