FMA: Regular connective tissue, the intercellular matrix of which consists predominantly of collagen fiber bundles arranged in parallel arrays.,UWDA: Regular connective tissue, the intercellular matrix of which consists predominantly of collagen fiber bundles arranged in parallel arrays.,NCI: Connective tissue mainly composed of parallel collagenous fibers leaving little room for embedded fibroblasts. This tissue has high tensile strength, but elasticity and flexibility are limited. Examples are tendons, ligaments and the fasciae and aponeuroses of muscles.
