UMD: Storage devices equipped with wheels for transporting supplies from one area of a medical facility to another. They are typically constructed of metal or plastic and contain shelves or drawers. Some carts are designed specifically for use in magnetic resonance imaging [MRI] environments, i.e., MRI-compatible supply carts, MRI-compatible utility carts, MRI-compatible coil carts, MRI-compatible medication carts, etc., and are made from nonmagnetic materials so that they can be safely used in an MRI suite.
