UMD: Implants intended for reconstruction and/or replacement of fibrous bands of tissue connecting bones and/or supporting internal organs (i.e., ligaments) or connecting bones to muscles (i.e., tendons). These implants may consist of biological autografts or allografts usually taken from cadaver donors (e.g., quadriceps, Achilles or patellar tendons) or made of synthetic polymers such as polytetrafluoroethylene, polyethylene terephthalate, carbon fibers, or silicone elastomers.
