Mouse cells grown in the presence of bromodeoxyuridine were fused with human cells in the presence of Sendai virus. The cells were then irradiated with blue light. Three days after fusion, the hybrid cell metaphases showed intact human chromosomes and many mouse chromatids with numerous abnormalities, indicating the great potentiality of the technique for genetic analysis and manipulations.
