Rapidly dividing cells up-regulate the number of transcobalamin II receptors during DNA replication. We have developed diethylene-triaminepentaacetate (DTPA) cobalamin analogs for the purpose of imaging transcobalamin II receptors in malignant and nonmalignant tissue.
