Home care agencies must plan for increasing demands from managed-care organizations; federal, state, and local governments; and consumers to provide appropriate, timely, high-quality, and cost-effective home healthcare services. Providers of home care services need a methodology to appropriately manage and control their service delivery. The Home Care Steps protocols discussed in this article provide such a methodology.
