The object of secure bone fixation in the reattachment of amputated fingers is early motion. The use of specially designed screws and Kirschner wires is essential for this objective. This becomes even more important in the reattachment of fingers than the upper arm or forearm. If there should be non-union of the bone, an autologous bone graft should be applied as a secondary procedure.
