Biological methods were used to study the changes in the folliculo-stimulating hormone (FSH) level in the hypophysis of human fetuses. FSH was found to be present in the hypophysis of fetuses during the whole period of investigation: from the 8th to the 34th week. Marked sex differences both in the total and in the relative FSH content were revealed in the adenohypophysis from the 17th to the 34th weeks of gestation.
