Following the introduction of a consistent method of adding informative comments to the laboratory report of the plasma concentrations of the anticonvulsants phenytoin, carbamazepine and phenobarbitone, there was a significant increase in the proportion of results falling within the therapeutic range to 64, 65 and 62% respectively.
