The electrical stimulation of the olfactory nerve allows to record steady field potentials in the olfactory bulb of the trout Salmo gairdneri. 200 microns separate recording points which are localised on a tridimensional network. At 18, 24, 30 and 38 ms the amplitudes are measured and plotted in a calculator which determines the isopotentials in any vertical, horizontal and sagittal planes. With this method, we have an instantaneous and global vision of bulbar activity and we observe striking anatomo-functional correlations in the olfactory bulb of Salmo gairdneri.
