Since nickel is widely used, it is not surprising to see numerous cases of nickel dermatitis. Women are particularly prone to this disorder since they use many everyday items such as costume jewelry and nickel or nickel alloy clips and fasteners. The clinical presentation is quite characteristic. Ear lobe dermatitis is common, particularly from pierced earrings. Diagnostic tests and treatment are discussed.
