A gastric tumor from a 27-year-old female showed the light microscopic features of glomus tumor. Ultrastructurally there were two types of tumor cells, i.e. smooth muscle and possible pericytes. From the literature review of ultrastructure of glomus tumor, hemangiopericytomas (HPC), leiomyoblastomas and leiomyomas, the glomus tumor appeared to exist as an intermediate form between HPC and leiomyomas which were considered to be in a broad spectrum of smooth muscle tumors.
