Sarcoidosis is a chronic disease which can cause unilateral exophthalmos: occurrence in the orbit, though very rare, has already been described in some cases of chronic sarcoidosis. A case of its localization in the orbit with apparently no other evidence of sarcoid is reported in this communication. The recent evolution of clinical and instrumental methods of investigation has permitted us to make a more accurate and "sophisticated" diagnosis in this case with respect to others we have seen described in the literature.
