A case of reversible ischemic colitis in a young woman taking Premarin, with varium-enema confirmation of the initial diagnosis and subsequent clearing after discontinuation of the oral estrogen preparation, is reported. Ischemic colitis may be more common than realized with the increasing use of conjugated estrogen preparations in menopausal women and elderly men treated for prostatic cancer.
