The aim of this study was to investigate intraocular properties and determine the highest nontoxic dose of hexadecyloxypropyl-cyclic-HPMPA (HDP-cHPMPA), a novel, potent, intravitreally injectable, slow-releasing crystalline drug for long-acting treatment of cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis.
