Resectable oesophageal cancer is often treated with surgery alone or with preoperative (neoadjuvant) chemoradiotherapy or chemotherapy. We aimed to clarify the benefits of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy or chemotherapy versus surgery alone by a meta-analysis of randomised trial data.
