Orally administered rutin reportedly ameliorates 2,4,6-trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS)-induced colitis of rats. We investigated the metabolic and pharmacological properties of rutin underlying the rutin-mediated amelioration of the rat colitis.
