Circulating adrenomedullin (ADM), a potent vasorelaxing and natriuretic peptide involved in cardiovascular homeostasis, is increased after cardiac and renal transplantation. ADM is also implicated in hemodynamic abnormalities during liver cirrhosis, but whether ADM is increased late after liver transplantation is unknown.
