In 6 of 12 investigated patients resection of a congenital aneurysms of the internal jugular vein was accomplished. In 2 of them venous patency was restored by means of a longitudinal-lateral suture after resection of a sac-shaped aneurysm, while in 4--following circular resection of a spindle-shaped aneurysm the vein was reconstructed by an end- to-end anastomosis. Phlebographic studies in 2 patients 10 and 12 months after reconstruction of the internal jugular vein have demonstrated great perspectives of employing such operation in clinical practice.
