We recently reported that doxorubicin (Dox), an effective anti-cancer drug, induces apoptosis in cardiac myocytes in association with reduction of Bcl-xl expression. In the present study, we further examined whether overexpression of Bcl-xl ameliorates Dox-induced cardiac myocyte damage.
