Osteoporosis and pathological fractures have been observed in children with a malignancy. The mechanisms of osteopenia in childhood malignancies have not been well established. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate changes in bone turnover and in bone hormonal metabolism in children with a malignancy at completion of their chemotherapy.
