Because recent data demonstrated that the shortened survival and excess cardiovascular death of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients are predicted by hyperphosphataemia, we examined the haemodynamic alterations associated with high serum phosphorus levels in ESRD patients on haemodialysis.
