Over recent years, significant advances have been made in our knowledge of hepatitis C. Three observe special attention: 1) the possible nosocomial transmission of hepatitis C during invasive investigation; 2) the improved efficacy of bitherapy (interferon with ribavirine) over monotherapy in chronic hepatitis C; 3) the value of interferon therapy in acute hepatitis C before it turns to chronicity.
