In the SFNC series (248 patients), the histological diagnosis was obtained after surgical resection in 116 patients (46%). Mortality was 3.4%, 54% had stereotactic biopsies which is the most safe and efficient diagnostic procedure. Our results suggest that surgical resection should be reserved for tissue diagnosis.
