The single-needle method, which greatly simplifies the technique of haemodialysis, was tested for its efficiency by in vitro and in vivo studies. It has proved equal in efficiency to the conventional double-needle techniques. The possibilities of unilateral puncture of the femoral vein in association with the single-needle technique are pointed out.
