Transmucosal chemoneurolytic injection of benzalkonium chloride (BAC) has previously been shown to duplicate operative proximal gastric vagotomy (PGV) in controlling gastric acid secretion. In this study, BAC was evaluated as to efficacious dose, methods of delivery, and systemic toxicities.
