Right-sided circulatory failure resulting from severe preoperative pulmonary hypertension is a source of mortality early after cardiac transplantation. We undertook the present study (1) to analyze the association of elevated pulmonary hemodynamic indices with 30-day mortality, (2) to define threshold ranges associated with an increase in 30-day mortality, and (3) to evaluate the effect of vasodilator reversibility on 30-day mortality.
