Retinoid X receptors (RXRs) heterodimerize with other nuclear hormone receptors and control ligand mediated transcription. To address how RXRs function as heterodimers, we investigated activities of truncated RXR alpha and RXR beta that lack approximately 20 conserved C-terminal amino acids.
