Terminal ileitis is the most frequent presentation of Crohn's disease. Resection of the terminal ileum and cecum with ileocolic anastomosis has always been considered the "gold standard" in the surgical treatment of this condition. This study illustrates an alternative technique referred to as "side-to-side enterocolic anastomosis."
