Cystic fibrosis is the most prevalent hereditary disease in the Caucasian race. It is a multisystemic alteration that affects the quality and quantitative properties of exocrine secretions. The pancreas develops a progressive atrophy causing steatorrhoea and nutritive deficiencies. Acute pancreatitis is an unusual complication. The pancreatic atrophy prevents the inflammatory response.
