The term "extracorporeal gastrojejunostomy" is being proposed to connote the process of refeeding gastric aspirates along with enteral nutritional support administered distally into the duodenum or jejunum. Although the procedure itself is common and known to clinicians, it is believed that the introduction and popularization of this unusual expression will heighten awareness of this approach. This can be achieved by using one multilumen tube or two tubes, one for gastric aspiration and one for distal feeding.
