Critical care nurses have a moral obligation to provide quality care for all of their patients. Many nurses lack information about lesbian, gay, and bisexual patient issues or feel uncomfortable working with such clients. This article explores some of the stereotypes that create negative attitudes about lesbian, gay, and bisexual people and offers suggestions for critical care nurses who wish to become better educated about these clients.
