2% trimecaine solution with adrenaline in various concentrations was tried as infiltration anesthesia in 10 volunteers. The efficacy of the above anesthesia was assessed by dental response to electric current. Electrical sensitivity threshold of the teeth rose with an increase in adrenaline concentrations. Trimecaine without adrenaline was much less active. Its vasodilation was often compensated by mechanic compression of the vessels by the infiltrate.
