Liposomal encapsulation of drugs can potentially ameliorate toxicities and improve acute and chronic tolerance. The increased uptake of liposomes by colon adenocarcinoma cell lines may enable DaunoXome to circumvent the p-glycoprotein-mediated anthracycline resistance of colon cancer cells.
