It has been established as a result of the survey done that the morbidity rate among the adult population living in the region neighbouring the integrated steel plant is higher as compared with the population residing in conventionally "clean" zone, both taken as a whole and with respect of most disease classes studied as evidenced by the rate of applying for medical advice. An adverse impact on human health of the releases from the integrated steel plant is implicated to be a cause of the above observation.
